The sky was a little shades of pink . The wind carried the scent of wet soil, leather, and danger. At the edge of the private Rathore stables near the outskirts of Chandigarh, a white Marwari horse thundered across the sand arena like a storm untamed. And riding it— was Ruhanika Rohilla.
The cardiothoracic surgeon . A happy soul with destructive thoughts . Cold hands in the operation theatre and Wild soul outside it. Her ripped ice-blue jeans hugged her long legs perfectly while the maroon kurta fluttered violently with the speed of the horse. A matching dupatta was wrapped around her face to shield herself from the flying sand, revealing nothing except those dark brown eyes— sharp enough to slit a man open without a scalpel. and soft enough to heal him .
Her silver jhumkas clinked softly beneath the cloth as she leaned forward, gripping the reins tighter.
"Faster..thunder!" she laughed
The horse neighed loudly before galloping harder. and The stable boys standing near the fence exchanged nervous looks.
"Ye har baar tabhai macha ke jati hai.." one whispered.
But before anyone could say another word— another horse entered the arena. Black. a Massive one . and Dangerously elegant. Its hooves struck the earth with authority.
Ruhanika narrowed her eyes. " Who the hell—"
The rider didn't stop. Instead, he charged straight toward her.
"Bawla hai ke ?!"( are you mad ) she shouted.
At the last second, the black horse crossed in front of hers. Thunder reared violently on two feet. Ruhanika's breath hitched as she pulled the reins hard, balancing herself perfectly. And then—her dupatta slipped from her head. For one suspended second, time stopped. Her impossibly long silky brown hair scattered through the air like dark waves against the golden sandstorm. Instinctively, she caught the dupatta over the lower half of her face again— hiding everything except her furious eyes.
The stranger's horse finally halted. and Silence stormed . Only the sound of horses breathing heavily remained. The man sat tall on the black stallion like he owned not just the stable— but every living thing inside it. Broad shoulders. Muscular frame. Black shirt sleeves folded near powerful forearms. His face too was hidden beneath a black riding mask. Only light brown eyes remained visible.
And those eyes— they did not blink.
Wind rushed between them. Her hair danced wildly. His gaze lowered for one fleeting second toward the gold kada wrapped around her wrist. Then back to her eyes. Something strange flickered there. Curiosity? Or challenge?
Ruhanika straightened on the saddle. " Uaat baaj rhi hai ke ?" ( are you out of you mind ) she snapped.
The man tilted his head lazily and his eyes flickered with a smirk " Aapki ankh dekh ke baaj gi ' ( yes, after looking at your eyes ) he said in his mind .
" Maybe " his deep voice came rough beneath the mask .
Her eyes narrowed. Before she could reply, he pulled the reins slightly. and The black horse moved closer. Close enough for her to notice the expensive watch around his wrist. and Close enough to feel the dangerous calm radiating from him.
"Naam?" she asked coldly
A faint smirk touched his eyes. "Rudraksh."
Rudraksh Rathore Rajput. A Neurosurgeon. Heir to the Rathore hospital empire. The man people in North India called a miracle with a scalpel and a monster in business.
And unfortunately for Ruhanika Rohilla— their story had just begun.
Rudraksh's gaze stayed fixed on her even as the deserted wind howled between them. There was something dangerously hypnotic about those dark brown eyes. Not soft. Not shy. but Wild.
The kind that challenged a man without saying a single word. His fingers tightened slightly around the reins.
" Aapka naam?" he finally asked. his voice Deep. Calm and Reserved. Yet something inside the question felt personal.
Ruhanika looked at him for two silent seconds. Then— she smirked beneath the dupatta. And pulled the reins. thunder turned sharply before galloping away, sand scattering behind her like smoke.
Rudraksh watched her disappear without blinking. No name. No introduction. Nothing.
Only those eyes and flying brown long hair left behind in his mind like a curse.
One of the stable workers nervously approached him. "Sir—"
"Kaun thi?" Rudraksh interrupted quietly.
The worker immediately lowered his gaze. "Pata nahi sir...jab bhi aati hai tabhai hi karti hai "
His jaw clenched slightly. That was rare. Very rare. Because Rudraksh Rathore Rajput was not a man who lost composure over strangers. Especially not over women. But for the first time in years— someone had walked away from him before he could even understand them. And it irritated him far more than it should have.
Outside the stable gates, Ruhanika entered her black G wagon with an annoyed sigh.
She threw the dupatta onto the passenger seat before starting the engine. But the moment silence filled the car— his face flashed in her mind. Or whatever little she had seen of it. Those light brown eyes. That broad frame. And those long silky black hairs moving with the wind—the type that would look dangerously perfect tied into a man bun.
Her grip tightened on the steering wheel.
"Chii—" she muttered instantly, shaking her head aggressively "Mera toh pehle hi naas ho liya... I don't want these attraction and stuff... ewwy." ( I am already destroyed..i dont want these attraction and stuff )
She physically cringed at herself "Bilkul bhi nahi"
But unfortunately— the harder she tried forgetting him, the clearer his eyes became in her memory. The drive back home felt longer than usual.
Maybe because every now and then— light brown eyes flashed inside her head again.
Ruhanika groaned dramatically and increased the music volume "Bhagwan ji... iss bande ko memory se delete karo"
By the time she entered the massive Rohilla mansion in Chandigarh, the sky had already turned deep orange. The moment she stepped inside— she froze.
Entire family sitting at the dining table. Waiting for her Silently. And staring at her like she had committed homicide.
Ruhanika blinked "...Ram Ram?"
Nobody replied.
Her father Harsh Rohilla leaned back in his chair slowly, narrowing his eyes "Madam ko ghar ka raasta yaad tha?"
Dadu Mahesh adjusted his glasses dramatically "Mhane toh lagya tha ghodi leke Rajasthan bhaag gi." ( we thought that she ran to rajasthan along with the horse )
Her dadi Lata shook her head "Doctor kisne banaya isse ?"
Ruhanika instantly pointed at herself innocently. "Tabar koni mai..." ( I am not a kid )
Kush her cousin brother snorted loudly "Waah didi waah !! Crime bhi karo aur face bhi innocent banao."
Khushi her cousin sister giggled while stealing paneer from his plate.
Samira her mother folded her arms, trying not to smile "Phone kyun nahi uthaya tune?"
"Horse riding kar rahi thi mummy..." Ruhanika muttered while removing her watch.
Harsh scoffed "Horse riding?" He pointed at her ripped jeans. "Ya WWE match?"
The entire table burst into laughter.
Ruhanika gasped dramatically "Papa!"
But Harsh wasn't done. "Ek din ye ghodi tereko seedha ICU mein chhod ke aayegi."
"Papa main cardiothoracic surgeon hoon. ICU mera second home hai."
Naksh chachu laughed loudly "Baat toh galat nahi boli."
Harsh glared at everyone supporting her "Tum sab ne bigaad rakha hai ise."
Right then, Sania chachi finally came to her rescue. "Arey rehne do bhaiya. Pura din hospital aur studies mein lagi rehti hai ye, a little bit enjoyment is not harmful "
Ruhanika instantly walked behind her chachi and hugged her dramatically "Dekha? Sirf chachi samajhti hain mujhe."
Harsh pointed at her accusingly "Natak company."
Khushi suddenly pouted "Diii... aap fir mujhe apne saath nahi leke gaye."
Ruhanika looked guilty for two seconds.
"You promised you'll teach me horse riding!"
Before she could answer— Harsh immediately interrupted with full seriousness.
"Maat kar... maat kar Khushi."
The entire table looked at him.
He took a sip of water calmly and continued "If she teaches you horse riding..." then pointed at Ruhanika, "...that would be your first and last ride."
Dead silence. Then— everyone burst out laughing again while Ruhanika stared at her father in betrayal.
"WOW."
Kush wiped tears from laughing too hard "Tau ji savage mode mein hain aaj."
Ruhanika huffed before sitting beside her father angrily. But within seconds— Harsh quietly pulled her plate closer and started serving food into it himself. Extra gravy and Less mirchi. Exactly how she liked it. Her anger melted instantly.
She leaned sideways against his shoulder slightly while eating. And Harsh—without saying anything— rested his head softly against hers for one brief second. Safe. Warm and Home.
Meanwhile, across the city of Chandigarh— the Rathore mansion stood wrapped in silence and golden lights. Luxury. Power and Legacy. The black Range Rover entered the driveway smoothly before stopping near the entrance.
Rudraksh stepped out quietly, still dressed in black riding clothes, his long silky hair messy from the wind. The moment he entered inside— his mother Devyani Rathore looked up from the sofa.
"There you are!"
Udai Rathore his father folded the newspaper dramatically. "Dekho ji... doctor sahab ghar aa gaye."
Rudraksh removed his watch calmly " I had late surgery "
"Haan haan" Udai nodded seriously. "Surgery." Then smirked. "Mujhe toh lagta hai girlfriend mil gayi."
Rudraksh paused mid-step.
Devyani instantly slapped Udai's arm. "Aap bhi na!"
"What?" Udai defended himself innocently. "Mera beta handsome hai. Neurosurgeon hai. Hospital empire ka owner hai. Girlfriend kyun nahi ho sakti?"
Rudraksh sighed tiredly "Papa."
Devyani stood up and walked toward him. "Khana khaya?"
"Hospital mein."
"Jhoot" she replied instantly like every Indian mother ever.
Udai chuckled. "Waise beta..." he leaned forward slightly "...agar sach mein girlfriend bani hai toh bata dena. Main band baaja ready karwa deta hoon."
For the first time all evening— that unknown girl's dark eyes flashed through Rudraksh's mind again. And it annoyed him instantly.
"No."
Short , Flat and Reserved.
But unfortunately— his parents noticed the one-second delay before the answer.
Udai's eyes widened dramatically "OHOOO."
"Udai ji!" Devyani whisper-yelled while trying not to laugh.
Rudraksh shook his head once before walking away calmly. But behind him—
his father was already grinning "Pakda gaya."
" why are you always irritating him ? " Devyani asked udai .
he gave her a look before answering " He is 29 , and since the day he was told that he is the heir . he is just working and I think now he need a life partner , the one who can heal him and give him peace "
His room was on the entire top floor of the mansion. Dark and Massive. Beautifully intimidating. The moment he entered, dim warm lights automatically lit up across the black aesthetic interior. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls overlooked the city lights. A huge balcony stretched outside with a private swimming pool reflecting the moonlight. Near it, a smaller heated plunge pool rested beside a black stone seating area. The attached washroom looked straight out of a luxury magazine— matte black interiors, marble walls, a gigantic mirror, a sunken bathtub, and a huge glass shower area. Minimalistic. ExpensiveSilent.
and One corner of the room held something unexpected though— a smaller wooden bookshelf completely filled with novels, medical journals, psychology books, and old poetry collections.
Rudraksh closed the door behind him quietly. Then removed his black shirt. The muscles along his back flexed sharply under the dim lights. And right below the back of his neck— a tattoo rested against his skin.
A brain and a heart connected together with wings around them.
Logic and emotion. War and balance.
He walked toward the mirror slowly, pushing his long silky hair back before tying it into a messy man bun. A few strands still fell over his forehead effortlessly.
Grey pajama bottoms hanging low on his waist. Barefoot and Calm. but Deadly beautiful , enough to make someone crave for his touch and drip on his touch . Yet strangely exhausted. He moved toward the bookshelf before pulling out a novel from between the stacked books.
Then settled onto the large black bed. Picking up his glasses from the side table, he wore them quietly before opening the book. The room fell silent again. Only the sound of pages turning softly. But after reading the same line three times— he stopped.
Because instead of the words— all he could see were dark brown eyes hidden behind a maroon dupatta.
Rudraksh stared at the open page in front of him for a long moment. Nothing was registering anymore. Not the words. Not the story. Only her eyes. Dark brown. Sharp and Wild enough to ruin peace.
His jaw tightened slightly.
"Re... kon thi wah bairan..." ( who was she ? ) he muttered under his breath.
The frustration in his own voice annoyed him even more. He shut the novel closed abruptly. Then removed his glasses and tossed them carelessly beside the book before dragging a hand through his hair. The messy bun loosened instantly. and the Long silky strands fell around his face again, slightly damp from the shower.
He exhaled sharply before lying back against the black sheets, one arm resting behind his head. But the more he tried to sleep— the more clearly he remembered maroon fabric flying through the stormy sand. And those furious eyes staring at him like a challenge.
"fuckk."
On the other side of —
Ruhanika's room glowed softly under warm fairy lights. Unlike Rudraksh's sharp luxurious darkness— hers felt softer. Cozy. Chaotic. Beautifully alive but still with the dark walls and ambience .
Dark aesthetic walls covered with tiny paintings, hanging polaroids, medical sticky notes, candles, books, and soft lamps. Rain sounds played quietly through a speaker. The balcony curtains danced slowly with the midnight wind.
Ruhanika entered while groaning dramatically. "Worst day ever."
She removed her oversized t-shirt before tossing it onto a chair carelessly, now only in loose black lowers and a black lace bralette. On the smooth skin of her back— a beautiful butterfly wings tattoo with a rose on her scapula and near her waist , rested delicately.
Her knee-length silky black hair flowed around her as she moved across the room dramatically humming random music. Then— mad woman behavior activated.
She grabbed her own hand and started doing couple dance alone in the middle of the room. Spinning once. Twice. Before suddenly falling face-first onto the bed with a loud scream.
"KON THA WOH DAID KA BEEJ—" She turned dramatically. "BHURI ANKHYA AALA!" ( who was that , brown eyed man ? "
Silence. Then she groaned into the pillow. "Disgusting."
After a minute of overreacting peacefully, she sat up again and reached for the novel resting near her side table. Glasses on. Blanket over legs and Calm mode activated.
She opened the book seriously. And started reading.
Everything was peaceful for exactly— seven seconds.
Because the line in front of her read "His brown eyes held storms she could never survive."
Ruhanika froze and Slowly lowered the book.
Then screamed into the darkness. "BHAGWAAANNNN!"
And immediately switched off the lamp before aggressively going to sleep like that would erase him from existence.
Morning arrived differently in both houses.
At the Rathore mansion— silence ruled.
The private gym on the top floor echoed only with the sound of weights clanking and controlled breathing. Rudraksh Rathore stood near the mirror in black workout joggers, sweat sliding down his sharp jawline as he finished another brutal set. His muscles flexed with every movement, veins prominent along his forearms. Focused. Disciplined and Reserved. No music. No trainer. Just him and the storm constantly living inside his head.
Unfortunately— that storm currently had dark brown eyes. He grabbed the towel roughly and wiped his face before drinking water.
The memory of maroon fabric flying in the wind flashed again. His jaw clenched.
"Focus."
Half an hour later, he stepped out of the shower dressed in charcoal grey scrubs beneath a black coat. Hair open falling a little above his shoulder and some wet flicks fall on his face .
Professional and Untouchable.
The moment he came downstairs, Devyani looked up from breakfast proudly. " All ready Dr. Rudra ? "
Udai folded the newspaper dramatically. "Doctor kam, Greek god zyada lag raha hai."
Rudraksh sighed. "Good morning."
"Hmm" Udai narrowed his eyes suspiciously. " Itna ready hoke kade chalya ? " ( itna ready hoke kaha ja rhe ho ? )
"Papa."
Devyani instantly glared at her husband. "tham tho bs kade bhi shuru ho jao ho" ( aap tho kahi bhi shuru ho jate ho )
Udai grinned shamelessly. "Kya pata hospital mein brown eyes wali mil jaaye."
Rudraksh paused for one dangerous second. Then calmly picked up his car keys. "Bye Maa."
And walked away.
Which only confirmed Udai's suspicions further. "AHA!"
Meanwhile, chaos had already started at the Rohilla house. The sound of loud music blasted from upstairs while Ruhanika finished her morning workout. Unlike Rudraksh's controlled silence— hers looked like beautiful destruction.
She finished boxing the punching bag aggressively before falling dramatically onto the gym mat.
"Dead."
Twenty minutes later, she walked out of her room freshly showered in navy blue scrubs, her ID card hanging in her hand. Her long silky hair was loosely braided, strands slipping free around her face as she moved downstairs. Sleepy. Pretty but Dangerous.
The moment Harsh saw her— he sighed deeply.
"Bhagwan... hospital waale tujhe doctor kaise maan lete hain?"
Ruhanika gasped. "Mummy dekho na!"
Samira calmly sipped tea "Sach hi toh bol rahe hain."
Khushi immediately ran toward her "Diii braid kitni pretty hai!"
Ruhanika kissed her forehead "Thank you meri jaan."
Kush walked in while eating toast. "Aaj kitne log daraane ka plan hai surgery mein?"
"tu ruk !!."
"Violence."
Lata dadi shook her head fondly "Bilkul bachpan jaisi hi hai."
Mahesh dadu smiled proudly while watching her wear her watch. Then suddenly frowned.
"Bike leke ja ri hai?"
"Haan."
"Car leke ja aaj" he warned. "Barish aayegi."
Ruhanika instantly grabbed her black riding gloves "Kuch nahi hoga dadu."
Harsh narrowed his eyes. "Ye dialogue horror movies mein bolte hain log."
And Everyone laughed. Ruhanika rolled her eyes before walking outside toward her matte black superbike. The morning wind hit softly as she wore her black mask first— then the helmet. Only her dark brown eyes visible again.
For one brief second— a certain neurosurgeon's face flashed in her head.
"EWW."
She immediately started the bike aggressively. The engine roared loudly. And before anyone could stop her— Ruhanika Rohilla sped out of the mansion like a storm on wheels while her family watched in collective concern. And just like that The weather changed without warning. One moment the roads of Chandigarh were glowing beneath soft sunlight— and the next— dark clouds swallowed the sky whole. Thunder rumbled loudly. And Rain poured down suddenly.
Ruhanika groaned inside her helmet. "Wah. Dadu ko future dikhta hai kya?"
Her black bike sped through the wet roads, water splashing beneath the tires as cold rain hit against her jacket. But instead of slowing down— she drove faster. Of course she did. Then suddenly—
SCREECH.
A black luxury car stopped sharply in front of her at the crossing. Ruhanika immediately pressed the brakes hard. Her bike halted dangerously close.
"WHAT THE HELL—"
She removed one glove angrily before stepping off the bike. Rain drenched the road around them. and The driver's door opened slowly.
And him. Black scrubs. Long black overcoat. Rain droplets sliding down sharp features. Rudraksh Rathore stepped out calmly like this wasn't almost an accident. His tied hair had loosened slightly because of the rain, strands falling over his forehead effortlessly.
And for the first time— his face was fully visible. Sharp jawline. Beautiful dimples. and Light brown eyes calm as storms.
Dangerously handsome. Ruhanika's brain malfunctioned for exactly one second. Then anger returned instantly.
"Gaadi chalani aati hai ya license ghee ke dabbe mai nikla tha?!"
Rudraksh looked at the black helmet covering her face. But then— he saw her eyes. Dark brown. the were Sharp and Familiar. And slowly— a smirk appeared on his lips , his dimples piercing through his cheeks .
Oh.
Bairan.
Ruhanika got more annoyed seeing him smirk. "Kis baat pe hass rahe ho?!"
Rain poured harder between them. Rudraksh stepped slightly closer. Close enough to confirm it was really her.
"You drive like you own the road."
"Or aap andhe ho!"
His dimples appeared deeper. and his mind went Interesting. Very interesting.
Ruhanika pointed aggressively toward his car "Daat ja bairi!"
For one brief second— Rudraksh's eyes flickered with amusement. Then he stepped forward instead of back.
"Daat gya, bairan."I've stopped, enemy girl.
Ruhanika blinked behind the helmet. He knew Haryanvi. Proper Haryanvi. and Not the fake dramatic kind.
And somehow— that made him more dangerous. Rainwater dripped from her helmet visor as she stared at him suspiciously.
Then she shook her head dramatically. "Bawli buch hai aap."
( You are mad !! )
And before he could reply— she sat back on the bike and sped away through the rain again. Leaving Rudraksh standing there. Wet. Silent. And smiling for the first time that entire morning.
